Love and Rain
Hi Peeps,
Hope you are all doing well. I have been thinking about love and rain lately.
Remember the scene in Forrest Gump were Forrest explains the rain in Vietnam during the war
Little bitty stingin' rain... and big ol' fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath. Shoot, it even rained at night...
Well there are also different types of love; romantic love, friend love, soul mates, love of your children and family. All great but all different.
Forrest and Bubba loved each other like best friends. Bubba made Forrest lean up against him so he did not have to sleep with his head in the mud. Forrest held Bubba as he died and then went on to follow Bubba's dream to open Bubba Gump Shrimp. I have two Bubba's in my life. I am very blessed. I mean I have many great friends, who all deserve a mention, but my two Bubba's know who they are. I adore Bubba 1 and Bubba 2. I love the quote: Friends are the family we choose for ourselves. I have an amazing extended family.

If you have read any of my other posts you already know about my love of S&P and ๐๐๐. Throw in my big brother, who is there whenever I need a chat or help and that is my family love. He will sort you out if you mess with his Rowie. We only have a very small family. One cousin, one uncle and one aunty. I love them also.
Then you have soulmates. I don't believe a soul mate has to be your romantic partner. It is the person you call to share the good and bad with. The first one you think of when something happens and want to share with them straight away, the one you want in your life forever. Have you found your soul mate?

Now for romantic love. Back to Forrest, I think Jenny was his soul mate but was she his? Wow, we could debate that for hours but I am going to use them as an example of romantic love. They had their ups and downs. He wanted to save Jenny but we all know Jenny had to save herself. And while Jenny was finding herself Forrest went down many roads. I have had two romantic loves. The first my ex husband - ha ha now you know how that ends. He was the love of my youth. Then I met someone 3.5 years ago, we are not together, but he taught me one thing, I am very grateful I learnt I was capable of loving again. I will always love these two men but as time goes on it fades to a different type of love. I have not found a name for that one yet. Maybe you can help me?

What I do know is no matter which love you have; family, friend, romantic, you have to water it for it to grow. If you don't, it drys up and dies. That also includes love of yourself. I have experience with that one also. If you don't love thy self first how is your bucket full to water others.
I would love to hear about any love you wish to share. Feel free to leave a comment. If you haven't already guessed I love love.
I am currently working on all different types of love and as Forrest says
My momma always said, life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.
Here's hoping my next pick from the chocolate box is a better one.
Love,
Ro.
