Nova 106.9 - Yes I am famous

Hi Peeps,

In the last month, I have spoken on Nova 106.9 (Brisbane) three times.

The first segment topic was when have you been to a massage parlour and realised it was not a legitimate massage parlour. Oh yeah - think rub and tug and happy ending. It could only happen to me.

You need to hear the audio of this. I did ask to be anonymous and go into "The Cone of Silence." First, I gave Luttsy some shit, then I discussed my trip to Thailand, where this sign was on the door - Free WIFI, no sex.

Finally, I spoke about my experience in a local Thai massage venue. I realised my mistake not long after I entered the room. The towels had not been changed on the massage table. I could hear men coming in asking for certain woman and leaving. Then sadly, the masseuse begged me to come back. I felt terrible when she asked that of me. Ahh 💩.

My second Nova call was on weird names. Being a teacher I have seen some very different names - Blessing, Christmas, L dash A(L-A), Paris (who was conceived in Paris). Now, I wonder if anyone with a city name was conceived there, I made a joke about Logan and Luttsy loved that.

My last call was on a Monday where they do a Dumbass segment. You have to say - Hi my name is Roanna and I am a dumbass and then explain your story. You also need to listen to this one, but to be quick, I took 25 kids on an excursion to an AFL game on a Sunday and I forgot to grab the school mobile and left it under my seat at The GABBA. I remembered when I was on the train. I already have "beef" (issues) with the finance team, so I knew they would love that I did something wrong. Luttsy asked the guys name in finance and I said "Her name is Karen." OMG - they laughed so hard. They ended up hanging up on me because I mentioned the G word near the end. You have to listen to work out the G word. (Now I have listened they cut out the G word😂🤦‍♀️).

Finally, I decided to enter the Tackle the NSW supporter (Nova Man) to win State of Origin tickets. I worked out where he was and made it to the park in Strathpine. I was running around Pine Rivers Park and as I was running towards him to win the prize, a Moreton Bay Council Worker, made it just before me😡. I had driven 35 minutes in traffic and he probably was working in the park. I thought Nova Man would have given me a free Nova cap - but I got nothing🤷🏼‍♀️.

I believe Nova should do a weekly segment with One Ro, Many Roads. I have good content and can tell a good story. If you know Ash, Luttsy or Nikki send them the link to this blog. I am happy to do it for free.

Hello Peeps! Well, we are on the move again. We moved into our new home in 2022, a nice little place that I was able to buy after my financial separation. It is very small for me and the Cheeky Monkey's to live in and it was probably time to move but ...... I decided to rent the place out and look for something for us to rent. Thank goodness for S&P, we have moved in with them whilst we are finding something. The rental market is ridiculous but I can not complain as I have a roof over my head. Ro's in the wild again

Hi Peeps! Well, it has only taken about 4 years of thinking and no doing but now feels right. I love to write and share my adventures. I started this a few years back just on my Facebook page when I started solo travel. I got lots of comments and people told me they were waiting for my next posts. However, I mainly did it for me. A way to recall all my adventures and activities and wait each year for those Facebook memories to pop up. The idea of this blog is similar. I am about to embark on more adventures (I hope the English teachers reading this recognise the foreshadowing😉). Are mental health issues a real thing?

Hi Peeps, Please note there will be triggers for some people on this post. I do mention self harm and dark thoughts. Stop reading now if you need to. This topic is not for everyone. I actually wrote this one many weeks ago and was deciding when would be appropriate to post. Yesterday, a young person in our community tried to take her life and it made me realise I need to post this. I am very sorry to say I never used to think mental health was a thing. I used to believe these people just needed to get out of bed, exercise and life would improve. Oh, how the universe proved me wrong. In 2021, I started to feel flat, nothing could make me happy. I got an amazing promotion at work and I was not even excited. That was a warning sign but I ignored it. Soon my physical health went down, I developed reflux, I could not sleep and the dark thoughts came. I told my husband at the time I was struggling and needed his help.
